Understanding the complexity of the human body is essential for a doctor and the department of Anatomy at Faculty of Medical Sciences, Rama University provides a deep insight into this aspect of medical education.
The department provides the students with all necessary equipment that facilitates comprehensive learning.
Under the supervision and guidance of experienced and qualified doctors, students learn the concepts.
The department conducts anatomy sessions for undergraduate and post graduate students and the sessions include didactic lectures, demonstration of cadavers, dissection and micro study of individual organs. Teacher-student discussions are also carried out in the form of seminars and symposia.
With the help of advanced multimedia tools and high end devices, the department offers a modern learning environment to the students.
Research
Both the faculty and the postgraduate students are encouraged to do research on advanced topics in anatomy and have the resources to do so.
A unique feature of Rama University is the presence of almost all disciplines of knowledge. The Medical research Centre promotes interdisciplinary liaison, so as to maximize the benefits of this distinction. The research activities of the Rama Medical Research Centre include various institutions, within the campus.
Facilities
The department is equipped with:
- Dissection Hall with a capacity to accommodate 150 students and 10 Cadavers
- Museum with 2000 mounted specimens, clay/plastic models, charts, bones and skeleton aid learning. The museum displays dissected human body parts, along with models of human body. The students also get acquainted with the developmental details of prenatal life.
- Demonstration Room where a radiology lobby is setup with CT, MRI and X Ray images for applied radiological anatomy
- Embryology Lab where models and animated videos are provided
- Histological Lab is equipped with a strong infrastructural setup with 100 microscopes and other equipment that helps students comprehend the microscopic structure of human organs and the organization of tissues.
- Cold Storage System for preservation of 30 bodies
